Aging in America begins by looking at the origins of an accelerated composition course that focuses on oral history and, specifically, ageism. "The way I pitch it to my students is 'You'll have to deal with old people'." This poignant statement from the English professor to her writing students serves as a call to action. The students embark on a moving and heartfelt interview/writing project with older adults, encountering social injustice, cultural differences and ageism. This leads them to meaningful introspection about their own biases and misconceptions, and ultimately provides powerful insights for both student and senior.

These systems were technical feats that had never been done before, and played a crucial role in America's race to be first to land a man on the moon.
